The Penalties

At the Director's discretion, the following procedural penalties apply.

1. A warning for the first occurrence of an infraction of a specific rule or law, except for an infaction of the zero tolerance policy.
2. A 1/4 penalty for each subsequent infraction of that rule or law.
3. For Law 90 -- Additional/Different penalties:
   1. TARDINESS:
      Always: Average minus for all boards not played.
      Non-offenders get an average.
   2. SLOW PLAY:
      Second time: No Play.
      Third time: Average minus.
      Every time thereafter: 1/4 board penalty.
   3. DISCUSSION OF BOARDS
      Second time: 1/4 board penalty.
      Third time: 1/2 board penalty.
      Every time thereafter: full board penalty.
