Each player is allowed 1 free play during the week of his or her birthday.
Free plays are also given out for winning bridge bingo after our Wednesday afternoon game.
Winners in the monthly Master Point Race (MPR) receive 1 free play.
Gift certificates for free plays are also available.
Each partnership must have at least one convention card that accurately describes the system used by the partnership. If both members have convention cards, they must be identical.
Cell phones must be turned off. For emergencies see the director before the game starts.
We are a "no snapping" club. Card snapping is rude behavior. Please feel free to point this out to anyone at your table that consistently snaps their cards.
Please conduct any table talk about a board just played in a soft manner. Other tables that have yet to play the board don't need to know what your result was. If loud table talk results in any pair's inability to play a board, an average- score will be assigned to the offenders, and an average+ score to any table that can't play the board because of your conversation.
Data entry errors will be corrected up to 24 hours after the results are posted on our web site. Otherwise, the rule is: "If you OKed it, you bought it."
Sit-outs are usually North-South. However, when the movement is a relay-and-bystand, the sit-out is East-West.
Setting the ranges for the different levels of stratification is the responsibility of the director. ACBL suggests the stratification ranges be: A=NONE, B=501-1500, C=0-500. However, the director is not required to adhere to these ranges and may choose any stratification range that she/he feels is appropriate for the game.
The ACBL General Convention Chart governs the methods and conventions that we allow.
According to the ACBL Alert guide, an opening bid at the one level with a hand that contains less than 10 high-card points is a very light opening. The guide notes that partnerships that have an agreement to open light must pre-alert this fact to their opponents. The guide does not specify a seat. At the Peoria Bridge Studio, Players whose convention card has "Very Light Openings" checked or players who have established an implied partnership understanding for very light openings, must announce, at the beginning of each round, to each new set of opponents, that they play very light opening bids. If the very light opening occurs only in third seat, that must, also, be announced to the opponents. Repeated failure to make the announcement may result in a score adjustment.
The Studio follows a modified version of ACBL's Zero Tolerance policy. Our zero tolerance policy is located here.
Behavior that will not be tolerated includes, but is not limited to:
